What we do

At Cookie Jar & A Dream Studio, we believe sports have the power to change lives and we harness that power through transformative storytelling. As award-winning producers and creative partners, we develop, produce and finance bold, authentic stories that place sports at the heart of culture.

How and why?
We do it

Whether creating original IP, acquiring true stories, or partnering with visionary filmmakers, our mission stays the same: championing content that is genuine, relevant, and emotionally resonant. We’re not bound by format — long form, short form, scripted or unscripted — the story always leads the way.

For us, sports are more than competition — they’re universal stories of hope, resilience, and connection. At Cookie Jar & A Dream Studio, we don’t just make sports content — we tell stories that inspire us all, long after the final whistle blows.

About Cookie Jar &
A Dream Studio

Our name reflects the heart of the “American dream” success story. DICK’S Sporting Goods began in 1948 when 18-year-old Dick Stack, working at an Army surplus store in Binghamton, New York, was asked to create a list of fishing products. When he shared his ideas, the owner dismissed him as a “dumb kid.” Upset, Dick went to his grandmother’s house, where he had spent much of his childhood, and explained what happened. She asked how much it would cost to open his own store. When he said $300, she gave him her life savings from a cookie jar and said, “Chase your dream and do it yourself.” With that and his determination, Dick opened his first bait-and-tackle shop.

By the late 1970s, he had expanded the product line to resemble what you find at DICK’S Sporting Goods today. From humble beginnings, authenticity and drive sparked our storytelling journey. At Cookie Jar & A Dream, we believe it’s not where you finish, but how you got there that truly matters.

Love the competition but driven by the work

DICK’S Sporting Goods made history as the first consumer brand to win a sports Emmy for outstanding sports documentary…

and remains the only Fortune 500 consumer brand to earn two Sports Emmys for original films.
